Cg Society's Mantis Queen

Mantis Queen is a quick tutorial on some brushes and concept stages. They show phases on how the artist went from concept to finish through flash. Its quite good in terms of how they use brush patterns and utilizing it after the concept was laid out.
The lighting isn't super dramatic or anything but its done very well. So if you are curious in custom brushes this is a good starter for ya.

This is a short film done by Tim WAtts and DAvid Stoten. Winner of the BAFA for animated short and an Oscar nominee a year later. It shows different stages of Kirk Douglass ish type characters, in his time in hollywood. Frank Gorshin does the voices for all the three characters and his performance is just absolutely great! I've probably watched this video a hundred times by now. Enjoy it everytime i see it. By the way Frank Gorshin used to play as the Riddler in the old adam west batman days, haha.

springfieldpunx is an awesome blog where the guy draws things in simpson style. He's done mostly super heroes of DC like Batman and Super man but i've seen him also do some villians of Marvel. I particularly luv how he does the different' costumes of batman.

A website that finds you some really cool icons that you can use for alot of things. I personally love to modify anything i have but i'm too lazy to actually create my own icons so icon finder is perfect for it.

Giant Robots!

Now i totally luv giant robots and this one just took the cake! This is a piece done by Michael A Slater and the robot is made by used Polystyrene packing materials. It stands 22feet tall and it even has little robots following him or would it be the giant following him? i dunno... Anyway Its going on a short demonstration tour before it gets "decommissioned". Too bad 'cause I'd love to see it walk around and smash people then suddenly A hero with a costume comes in and fight it... but thats just me.

Awesome Awesome girl! An Illustrator that goes to sheridan college. She has such a sense of style and has such a desire and determination for comic books. She is pretty much everywhere when it comes to conventions. She knows almost everyone in the industry because her personality is so great. I first met her in a convention and was very impressed with her work. Suddenly every year her work just got better and better. We became pretty good friends and she is the reason why I like comics again. thnx Agnes!

Pixars new short animation!

For the people that are going to be watching Pixar's new movie Wall.e on June 27th. Which I'm pretty sure is everyone, will also get to see their latest animated short called "Presto". Coming soon got a chance to see the short. It was written and directed by Doug Sweetland.

So far people are saying this might be greater than all their shorts. I'll believe it when i see it.

Nathan Sawaya Lego man!

This guy uses basic Lego Bricks to create sculptures that are just awe inspiring.
Sawaya’s art is now touring North American museums doing a show titled, The Art of the Brick. It’s the only exhibition focusing exclusively on LEGO as an art medium.

I have been dying to post this and I finally got around to post this one. Because i really luv luv luv lego!

His work gave me alot of inspiration. I hope it gives u some too.
