Laptops are getting the first 500Gb (5400rpm...boo but still) harddrive! It's going to come at the hefty price of $299 MSRP. I still want it anyway, but here's the other 250GB harddrive which runs at the amazing speed of 7200rpm and has the awesome price of $199MSRP (sort of).

US Department of Energy spends $30 million for plug in hybrids...no you are not dreaming!

I think this is great news, at least they are making some effort to do something. They are saying, along with Ford, GM, and GE, that they want to make plug-in cars able to travel 40 miles on one charge; they want them to come out by 2014. Wait a second though, other companies have already said they want them on the road by 2010...i'm guessing those are japanese companies too.

ASUS LS221H Slimmest 22-Inch

Alright yes that monitor sounds cool but the picture is just funny, I find joy most of time in reading tech news because of the funny mishaps and mistakes that some people make.

So this article was published on newlaunches.com, but no one seemed to notice the ridiculous picture until it came on Engadget...check out the hilariousness of the comments

HP/Voodoo kick some ass

Hp and Voodoo have done another team up to bring you the Envy laptop.

Here check some of the specs:
  • 3.4 lbs, 0.70 inches thin, 9.04 inches deep, 12.65 inches wide
  • Carbon Fibre case
  • Backlit LED screen WXGA (1, 280 x 800) in high quality fused composite glass that runs from one edge to the other
  • Standard Webcam
  • 802.11 A, B, G, N and bluetooth
There's a whole whack of crazy stuff in this baby like a LAN plug on the power brick which WiFi connects back to the laptop (very interesting), the mouse turns off when it senses you not touching it (it knows when it's not needed...aw), also it has an intake for air in the front and an outtake on both sides.

Very interesting stuff, for the price start of around $2, 099

A guy that might give X300 and the Macbook Air a run for their money, but i'm kind of curious where the optical drive is...unless i'm blind...which I was known for when I played basketball...

Asus is working on a new user interface using a touch screen for the bottom half of the laptop where the keyboard would be. There's a bunch of really cool ideas here and I think it would work out great.

Japanese Cell Phones not as good as it sounds?

Recently posted that Japanese cell phones may not be the envy of the cell phone world after all. Said to be many features that actually don't work that well? Much of the software is buried in bad GUIs. Dare I say, iPhones actually might be better off for some of these Japanese cell phone users. Apparently iPhones are simple enough for anyone to use, especially when in contrast with those feature filled Japanese cell phones.

Whatever helps the competition move along.

Good Company advice...

When you don't have any new technology or added specs to make your new products look good... just put a hole in it... Because that is what LG has done with the new Scarlett LCD. So far doesn't look like anything new... and that makes me cry inside my second stomach.

Apple Killing Nintendo...hahaha *i think i peed a little*

Recently a man by the name of Brian Caulfield has eaten his own balls and made an article called, "Why Apple could kill the Nintendo DS." Key word being, "could" then he should've followed by saying, "but probably can't." He goes on to talk about the new App store opening up for Apple allowing people to freely develop their own software for iPhone and iPod Touch.

I read this off of Crave (awesome site by the by) and his title to his article was, "Why Apple will never kill the Nintendo DS" and I think he is right. Just go ahead and check out the logic in what he says, and i'm just going to go ahead and add a little of my own.

Nintendo DS is the greatest selling console in all of Gaming history, it's recent Nintendo Wii sales has beat Microsoft and Sony, combined. If companies that tries to specialize in game play can't even beat their sales, how does a company that can't even get 50% of the computer market have a chance in beating a monster like Nintendo?

Then again, Apple never said that they wanted to really get into Gaming so it's not their fault (I just like making fun of Apple and their loyal, 'follow off a cliff' fans).

Check out the fight here for yourself.

Who has two thumbs and wishes they were in Japan, This guy!

NTT DoCoMo once again reminds us we should eat our own cell phones because theirs are better. They have just released their new line up of 906i and 706i series. The 906i series all have 3G/GSM international roaming, GPS, HSDPA, 1-seg mobile TV, full Flash 8 support internet browser, DCMX mobile credit card, and iD mobile credit payment tech, VGA LCD screens, voice to text translations of English, Chinese, and Japanese. The 706i shows off some handsets with water proof 1-Seg phones, slimmest (9.8mm) 1-Seg phone, and a phone that can keep track of your health and diet. Most importantly they are all flip phones with screens bigger than my face.

Security Camera System Catches Homeless Woman

A rich man in Japan recently caught a homeless women living in his closet for a year? She has taken regular showers and eaten his food from the fridge, he started to notice and set up security cameras that send photos to his cell phone regularly. Go technology! he then found out and called the police. I bet he knew and they just got into and argument and threatened to kick her out (she probably didn't want to get too freaky, she's homeless but not that kinky).

Computers and IKEA?

Someone thought it would be a great idea to use an IKEA shelf and strip it down, then PUT 6 COMPUTERS IN IT. Each slot has an Intel Core 2 Quad on Gigabyte S-series mobos with 8GB of RAM each. That is a budget render machine if I ever saw one.
